Gods of the New World (OOC)
You are a god.
Immortal. Legend. A definite answer to an abstract question. Unique. You have the ability to do anything, have anything, be anything. You are known. Feared. Loved. Respected. Hated. Worshiped. You have a goal. A dream. It is personal, and yet at the same time beyond even you. You are not alone. Others will come, help, and hinder you.
You have a choice.
Who are you?
The objective of this RP is to, though deistic characters played by you, create a new world. However we do so is fine, as long as we meet this one shared goal. This is a structureless world, and things only exist if we want them to.
Your character is a god from another realm. He could have earned the name or was born one, your background is up to you. Really, create your character however you want, whether he be new to the position, as old as time itself, or even created time. This is, after all, you.
The only real background within this story is the idea that multiple gods from multiple worlds are coming together to do something deemed impossible now - to create a very new realm, a new world if you will. It is thought so because many gods have tried before you and failed. Those who did succeed did so long ago, and it is uncertain how. The last known god who created a realm did it billions of years ago, and has secluded himself from the rest of his kind to care for his people.
Everything else about the background, setting, etc. is up to you. Anything not previously mentioned is up for change unless stated otherwise, and should probably be related to your personal background.
BIO LAYOUT
Name: I can has name?
Lordship(s): what specialty are you?
Appearance: Obvious
Personality: I LIKE TO SKIP AROUND IN FIELDS OF FLOWERS
Background: give as much or as little as you please. If you want to hold something back, go right ahead. This is not an excuse for making stuff up in the middle of the RP. These sheets are made for reference only, but use discretion in what you would like to surprise us all with later on. Other than that, your background can be anything you want.
Other: Anything you felt like adding that didn't fit anywhere else.
A few things to remember when considering your character
When creating this world, we cannot make what we don't have. If we don't have someone who specializes in a specific field, such a magic arts, we won't get it in our world.
Within the context of this story, no one god can do anything/everything. Please don't try to be an ubergod and do things that you would not be able to do well. Sure, I would allow a god of independence set rules for marriage, because of the comical aspect that might come from it. But if you were a god of independence and you were able to set the laws for marriage, create goliaths that control the weather, and sing Yankee Doodle Dandy all at once, then you're not really getting the point of this RP.
Be a god of anything, abstract or not. Really, have lordship over anything you'd like. Wanna go the Greek mythology route? Go ahead! Norse? Sure! Don't let previous god stories guide you fully, however. If someone wants to be a god of indecisiveness, that's amazing. As long as you're not vague, you can have lordship over anything.
All in all, I've intentionally given you tons of freedom. have fun!
More on the way if I think of anything.

Re: Gods of the New World (OOC)
Spot claimed, bio a work-in-progress.
Name: Aderyn
Lordship(s): Sky
Personality: Self-centered, impulsive, and quick-tempered, but has a happy and carefree side.A bit of aTotal slut.
Background: An older deity from an older universe, Aderyn was a minor figure associated with the rain. Over time, her supporters amassed large numbers, enough to hold her above the other weather figures, and in many cases, as the only one. However, science marched on, leaving her world content without the old religions, sending its gods elsewhere. It was in this mass exodus that Aderyn found this new world where she used her experience to form and rule over the skies.
Other: Has an eagle companion, Horatio
Really hates snakes.
Enjoys jazz.

Re: Gods of the New World (OOC)
Name: Combined name 'The Sisters'
Sister of Wisdom: Helena
Sister of War: Devona
Lordship(s): Wisdom/Peace and Folly/War
Appearance: I might draw them if I have the time. But it would probably only be their faces.
Personality: Helena is calm and quiet. She thinks everything through and rather studies the options first before deciding on anything. The most important thing for her is knowledge, acquiring and distributing it. Her peaceful nature makes her quite charming and loved, acting motherly to most people she meets. Helena is more of a natural beauty and celibate.
Devona is impulsive and wild. While not stupid and in fact being a very good strategist and tactician, Devona's stubborn and violent nature can often lead her to attack first and ask questions later. Exotically gorgeous she uses her looks when she wants and flirts heavily with both males and females alike. Devona is known to have charmed (and slept with) many men both mortal and god alike, also killing a lot of them.
Background: The Sisters didn't start out as having to share one body. They used to be two separate entities. Born out of the desire of humans to conquer and fight, Devona was born to lead them. Though where there are those who want war, there are also those who pray for peace. Out of these desires, Helena soon followed her sister into existence.
In the world of The Sisters, their followers were chosen by those who they deemed exceptional enough. Devona favoring those who were brave, strong and powerful, to be deemed worthy of joining her army that would defend their realm for all eternity. Her Sister Helena chose the brightest, smartest and most knowledgeable to form an army of scholars who would study the world and learn the secrets of the other gods. These chosen people would be bound to the goddesses and be immortal, forever at their disposal.
Though sisters, The Sisters hated each other with a passion, being complete opposites. Both being on the different side of the line, they worked hard to meddle and destroy each others plans. It wasn't until the 'incident' that they were forced to live with each other.
Devona had wooed a powerful god, only to leave him again for a mortal who she deemed more handsome. The god, furious at this betrayal kidnapped the mortal and left behind a parchment with a riddle on it. Believing the riddle would help her find her lover, Devona went to the smartest being in the galaxy, Helena.
After much arguing, threatening and even begging, Helena decided to help her sister solve the riddle. The text on the parchment was that of an ancient spell, one even Helena had never seen before. Curious, Helena read the spell out loud, only for magic to consume both her and her sister.
While the spell was meant to strip the caster from its body, Helena instead got melted with her sister. To this day Helena is still figuring out how she and her sister can separate from each other. Legend has it they are interested in creating a new world in the hopes to reenact the accident, for the god never gave them a solution when Devona killed him. It is this that they decided to join the new group of gods and hopefully find some way to bend the rules and free themselves from this prison.
Other:
- Their mount is a giant Gryphon, named Horus.
- The dominate sister (the one that controls the body) is able to communicate with her dormant sister (the one that has to wait till sunlight/sunset) through their minds. They cannot however, access each others powers only their own. The dormant sister cannot do anything besides observing until the sun either sets/rises and their time of day has come to claim the body.
- Nobody knows what would happen if there would be a solar eclipse.
- Helena has an army of scholars to do her bidding, Devona an army of fearless warriors. It has been said that they were unbeatable, though rarely used. (The Sisters believe they can handle problems themselves)
The Sisters to this day are fighting over who's fault it was that they got stuck in one body... and about anything else too really.

Name: Lorrian
Lordship(s): Joy and Revelry (EDIT: Apparently Love too, Big O said he pretty much figured I should take it)
Appearance: Not to be outdone by LadyM, I'll draw it up laterz
Personality: Jovial, Compassionate, Kind, Merciful, Drunkard, Pacifist, etc...
Background: Dunno yet
Other: It's incredibly rare to see a frown on the god's face, in fact, to his devout followers, frowning is practically heresy. He always tries to make the other gods happy, even those that could be/are evil.

Re: Gods of the New World (OOC)
Name: Crow
Lordship(s): Life and Death
Appearance: Slicked back dirty blonde hair, appears to be in mid 30’s by human standards, clean shaven, handsome, blue eyes, white skin.
Black pinstripe suit and trousers, black shoes, white tie, silver watch.
Personality: Arrogant and suave, Crow treats his role as a business, he is quite calm and deadpan, that said, he is willing to intervene in the affairs of the world if it cause’s too much death or life, which usually involves the root of it dying mysteriously.
Background: If you were to ask Crow how he was created, then he would shrug, for he has no clue himself.
All he remembers is coming into being inside his realm, after experimenting with his power's, he realised the true extent of his abilities, he could create life, and control death.
Somehow - as perhaps was imbedded into him by his creator (assuming he had one) - he knew his purpose (finish this later), to create souls to roam the planet, and take them when their lifespan's ended.
After much thought, he realised he could not create a new world by himself, so he sought out others like him, in order to accomplish this.
Other: His realm appears as a Penthouse, along with a meeting room and an office building, which is bigger than any skyscraper could hold, that houses his operations, in the office, there are clocks in every cubicle, however these are not ordinary clocks, these countdown from a being's birth, until their death, there being one for every being on the planet, with more constantly added as more life is created, and taken away as it ends.
Since it would be too much stuff for any one being to keep track of, he gives good (Advanced) souls a choice, they can be reincarnated, or assist him in dealing with dealing with souls, those that are unadvanced or overall bad are reincarnated as a different being instantly.
He knows when souls are killed too early or keep living past their lifespan instantly, however these are rare or the result of rookies.
He is capable of ending or extending lifespans via the clocks which display them, he extends them by literally turning the hand back, and ends it by turning it forward.
Enjoys 50's music, which he picks up from some barely developed planet.
Has a British accent, like this guy.

Re: Gods of the New World (OOC)
Spot claimed
Name: Mortals called him Lord C.C.C.C. (pronounced Lord C4) or Lord C.
Lordship: Earth and Order
Appearance: Most often takes on the form of one or more cut gemstones, from Amethyst to Zircon, large and small, of all colors and hues. His facets are symmetrical, precise, and his inner fire is brilliantly beautiful.
Personality: Lord C. is straightforward and uncompromising, and cares little for the opinion of others. Logical argument and reason, however, can sway him from his intended course, and he is not unkind to his followers or those who are kind to him.
Background: A being of pure order, Lord C. was one of many created by a yet greater being, and with his siblings created a world of pure crystalline order. Everything and everyone within was like clockwork, interdependent and utterly submissive to their roles, and the orderly gods saw this as good. For millenia, the world was utterly under their control, until just the tiniest trace of chaos made its way into the system.
One small cog slipped, which bent one pipe out of place, which set the stream of waste fluid one inch too high, which cause a leak, which short-circuited a wire. Within a day, the world itself had collapsed from a massive chain reaction - the world's workings were so interlocked, so dependent on everything working correctly, that one tiny slip sent it all crashing to a halt. The backlash was incredible, shattering the gods of the world into millions of pieces. Only Lord C.C.C.C. remained.
Having learned his lesson, Lord C. set out to create a new world, one which would be truly unending.
Other: As one of the Order gods long ago, Lord C. was placed in charge of all things Earthen. As such, Lord C. represented himself to mortals through various proxies, usually statues of rock and metal made up of geometric shapes, often taking the form of flowers or other plants.
Lord C.C.C.C.'s symbol is that of four C's, all arranged in the shape of a clover or flower petals.

Re: Gods of the New World (OOC)
Name: Entropy
Lordships: Entropy and the lifeless
Appearance: An empty cloak is its most common earthly appearance, though it also appears as an abandoned city or town, empty and forlorn.
Personality: It is apathetic, sorrowful and eternally lonely. It cares for nothing but the eventual winding down of the universe, and all things. The antithesis of the other gods.
Background: Whereas the other gods have coalesced into beings, fully-formed and powerful, it is no more than a concept made manifest, only able to exist through a concentrated effort of will. Nameless, shapeless, when all the other gods came together and proclaimed "It is.", and brought into shape the universe and all therein, it stood apart and whispered, "It is not."
The universe is flawed, and will end. Everything will end. Even it.
Other: A concept with no real physical form, worshipers or identity. The abstract god. When people die, it tries to end even their immortal souls, bleeding the universe dry a little bit faster.

Re: Gods of the New World (OOC)
Name: Ossis
Lordship(s): The flesh and its desires, mortality
Appearance: for all intents and purposes he is a faun(like what Mr. Tumnus is in Narnia), average face and curly, long hair. Wears no clothing, but isn't offensive in any way(once again, Mr. Tumnus). Small horns, mainly because he found that the female gods don't like the large horns getting in the way. He sometimes wears a hat, much like a small-brimmed fedora.
Personality: Flirty, cheezy, drunkard, happy, perverse, semi-jocular. Has a tendency to not know when to give up, especially on a woman. He also has a tendency to give into the very same desires he instills into his creations. He considers himself an artist of sorts.
Background: Ossis is known as the finest creature architect in many realms, though those same realms will admit he's also difficult to handle. He was previously involved in a group a few thousand years ago who also tried to form a new world. Not much is known as to what happened, but he is the sole god surviving the incident. He reclused himself for the past thousand years to his home realm, and is just now returning to normal - whatever "normal" is to a god who controls pestilence, fertility/fleshly desires, and the body itself.
Other: His nickname is Ozzy/Ossy. Ossis is the Latin word for bone. He is like a puppeteer, able to control what he create; however his creatures are lifeless unless another god comes in and fills the empty shells for him. He creates every archetype by hand, from either his own magical will or a type of modeling clay he creates and uses.

(I'd best post to claim a spot, but I need to go now so I'll try to have it finished by tomorrow night.)
Name: Baphern
Lordship(s): Magic and Beasts.
Appearance: Tends to shift based on his two aspects.
(Magic)
(Beasts) is a fusion of an Owl (Head), A gorilla (Torso), and a serpent (Leg) in humanoid form.
Personality: I LIKE TO SKIP AROUND IN FIELDS OF FLOWERS, THIS IS REALLY HIS PERSONALITY. (Okay no not really)

Lordship(s): Chaos and Complaining.
Appearance:
Personality: FLOWERS? Really? Not fields of snakes? How about stakes, or we could skip across a lake? Have you ever done that, walk on water I mean? Sounds awful fun. Might want to take your shoes off first though, not entirely sure what water is supposed to do.
Background: Xeneph is a young god, to the point where his birthday hasn't even been decided yet; but he's there, and determined to make himself known. His only previous experience as a god was contained within one dreary little rainy dirtpile called 'Wales', where he successfully committed himself to have the residents complain about every little thing that bothered them.

His true godly form is that of pure blue flame in the shape of a man, but this form is very destructive to things around him so he does his best to stay in human shape.
Personality: Passive when it comes to the affairs of other gods, quiet, indecisive, pyromaniac, enthusiastic when it comes to building things, never truly satisfied with most of his work, doesn't being told what to do, is quick to anger if someone else destroys his creations.
Background: At a point in the universe's creation, there was an explosion. From that explosion was born a being of flames. His birth, however, had caused damage to the universe around him. He decided to apologize by fixing what had been destroyed and building upon them. He didn't stop there. He continued to build, building great halls that expanded across the universe and building upon the lordships of the other gods. Eventually, his buildings were stopped by the other gods and he was made to tear down his constructions. He was then forced to agree never to infringe upon the other gods territories unless he was given permission. He now sits quietly, smoldering in the embers of the universe, eagerly waiting to offer his services and creating things from his own flame.
Other: As a god of construction, he requires materials to build. As such, he most often ask the others for things from their respective control.
- He can build almost anything from anything, but can't build something from nothing. He tried that once, it didn't hold together very well.
-He can construct things from his flame, but they are often too destructive and must be kept away from other creations.
-He dislikes building simple things unless he feels like it. He likes building things that are more complicated and convoluted since he considers it a challenge.
-If he dislikes his creations, he will often destroy them in the fires and start over.
-He doesn't really repair things, but builds upon them.

Re: Gods of the New World (OOC)
Name: Chronogalos
Lordship(s):Pleasure/Pain (Changed my mind) Time and Fate
Appearance: Takes on many common, human-like forms, most often an old man with an hourglass at his side, or a young man with a book and quill at the ready. His wardrobe is always in the most current mortal fashion, and in any form where he does not seem to carry his hourglass or book, he holds a rather ornate pipe.
Personality: Very straightforward, yet distances himself from others as a whole, especially humans. While he doesn't like to mingle with mortals, he seems rather fond of their appearance. Prefers to be left alone, and is known to turn away visitors to his domain at a moment's whim--even if he invited them in--or even relocate his domain away from the visitors! Deep down, however, he is very kind, yet easily influenced, and hates to deliver bad news. Generally a neutral party as far as mortals and gods are concerned, he's been seen working with or in conflict with other gods concerning the Book of Fate. Gods who manage to anger or threaten Chronogalos sometimes have a destiny or two that have been requested altered, only to also find that Chronogalos' domain has relocated without them.
Background: Originally two gods: Feros, the god of Time and Space, and Destiny, the goddess of Fate. Other gods despised their exclusive favoritism of each other, often challenging them. Having grown tired of the circle of hatred, they united their very essences to create Chronogalos. Feros' power transformed into Chronogalos' body and the hourglass, the Sands of Time, allowing time to move forward for the mortal world, as well as giving Chronogalos the ability to manipulate his domain at will and, to a lesser extent, the domain of the mortal world. Destiny's power transformed into Chronogalos' will and the tome, the Book of Fate, the combination of the two powers being that which drives the future into becoming the present. While often looked down upon by his peers for his origins, none can deny the inevitability of having to cross paths with this god.
Other: The Book of Fate, in general, holds the destinies of mortals. Anything written in the book can greatly change the way things unfold in the mortal world. Due to the nature of the book, other gods have been known to bargain with him to write into it (or read to them what is written), or even try to steal the book from him. For this reason, Chronogalos is very adamant on others not touching the book, nor does he write into it on his own whim. Despite the book's very nature, it cannot override other gods' powers--particularly if it's already been put into action prior to anything being written. It cannot alter the course of the gods' actions; only mortals. If an excerpt concerning a god is written (even in context of said god's follower), the god instantly is aware of the entry that has been written. Once written, destiny is compelled to adhere to the words as closely as possible, the words themselves sometimes changing to fit properly. While destiny itself is compelled by the book, some mortals, especially those favored by other gods, can go against what is written, re-writing the very Pages of Fate as a result. As a side note, any page taken from the Book of Fate acts as if it were the Book of Fate itself, but each page can only contain one entry, and a fate cannot become destiny until the entry is closed with the words "so it shall be". The Book of Fate seems to have infinite pages. Once used and destiny fulfilled, any disambiguated page disappears from the writer's possession and reappears inside the book. Also, when a destiny has been fulfilled, the words, "so it shall be" change to "so it has been". Chronogalos cannot change what has already been written once an entry has been closed, so he never closes an entry until the god bargaining with him has left. Chronogalos never writes any fates concerning his own followers, good or bad.
The Sands of Time, an hourglass sometimes seen with Chonogalos, is a rather simple-looking hourglass of seemingly no value--at first glance. The sand contained within seems to magically disappear from the bottom only to reappear at the top. Focusing one's gaze into the top half of the hourglass allows the holder to see the predestined future. Looking into the bottom half allows the holder to see what has already passed. Turning the hourglass upside down does not reverse time, but instead pauses it for the mortal world. The other gods know instantly when the hourglass is in its reversed position. It's said that Chronogalos often consults the Sands of Time prior to writing into the Book of Fate. While the Book of Fate does not seem to be bound to Chronogalos, the Sands of Time is. He is capable of letting others hold it, however, it eventually returns to his hand. It's also said that if the Sands of Time's sand ran out, the mortal world's end is nigh.
Chronogalos' own native powers are actually spatial and dimensional based, which explains his successful hermit-like behavior. He shuns combat, instead preferring to leave the scene when convenient. He has a good amount of mortal followers, who believe that worshiping him grants them good luck (it doesn't; it just spares them from ill fates).

Re: Gods of the New World (OOC)
Spot claimed!
Name: Exodus (The Judge)
Lordship(s): Law/Judgement/Morality (What is right and what is wrong)
Appearance:I'll try my hand at MSPaint.... later. When he takes the form of a human he's best described as: Tall skinny male with light grey skin and dark brown hair. His hair is tied back into a ponytail that reaches about halfway down his back. For clothing, he pretty much wears black robes and goes barefoot all the time. His natural form is more or less a colour shifting cube (think Ozma, but a cube) but he enjoys lounging about looking like a human. He usually only takes his natural form when he has to travel.
Personality: Exodus tends to be rather childish and always wants to get his way. He gets annoyed easily but doesn't do much but complain and annoy those who don't do what he says. He tends to be a little mischievous.
Background: Soon after Exodus was born, the other gods around him decided to lend him their powers and let him run things because truth be told, after several millennia they were pretty bored of looking after the mortals. After nearly wiping out all life for the seventh time, the other gods were forced to take their powers back. Finding that they would rarely listen to him since 'he was being too harsh on the mortals' he got upset and left. He then found other realms and after a few millennia he learned to be a little more responsible with setences and that wiping out a nation because the leader lied to his wife about liking her family was, in fact, a little harsh. After hearing about a group of gods coming together to create a world Exodus decided he couldn't be left out and has joined the group.
Other: Exodus is an interesting god in that while he may be extremely powerful, this power does not extend into the realm of mortals and he has very little direct influence on them. He is a judge without the power to carry out his sentences. As such, he relies on other gods to carry them out for him. This often takes some bargaining, unless of course the god doesn't care either way or doesn't feel like putting up with Exodus' crap and would just like to get him out of their sights quickly. Quite often the other god will ask Exodus to influence the mortals' moral compass in a way that is beneficiary for them in exchange for carrying out a sentence. While he can influence the mortals to give them an underlying sense of what is right and what is wrong, he has no such moral compass himself. Due to this and his mischievous nature, his sentences can seem rather contradictory and strange. The rules that he gives the mortals exist solely for his amusement.

Re: Gods of the New World (OOC)
Name: Thaler
Lordship(s): Innovation and Invention
Appearance:
Personality:
Background:
Thaler came into existence at the same time as Foltest, his original world's God of War. This was because the two were intrinsically connected, with that world's inhabitants being their most innovative and inventive during times of war. Something Thaler would find to be true of virtually every world. As such, Thaler and Foltest saw each other as brothers and showed extreme favoritism towards each other and their respective followers. This lead to Thaler abusing his role to provide exponentially greater advancements in the field of war, while neglecting to push the inhabitants of the world to develop in other respects. While they did come, albeit slowly and under a natural progression, the world eventually became filled with pissed off war mongers who didn't understand each other and barely understood the consequences of using the instruments of war they had been given. To make a long story short, they blew up the world and life pretty much had to start over. The other gods also decided of the two brothers, Thaler was the bigger threat so his ass needed to be banished. He's still not sure why they thought progress was more dangerous than war. Eventually, Thaler came across a new group of gods who wanted to create a brand new world. Convincing them it was a good idea to let him in on the action, Thaler has already begun planning out how he'll be exerting his influence on the people who will inhabit this new world. And this time he'll be more careful about it. Honest.
